I truly believe that Proton treatment IMPT would be less toxic to the heart, lungs and esophagus for Stage III b ( bilateral MN or Hilar nodes) and very large unresectable Stage III A patients compared to IMRT.
covers the experience out of the Netherlands and I think demonstrates that we clearly can select for those that benefit. So I agree - with IMPT there will be clear benefits in a subset.
Visited the proton center at MDACC last year - the design touches (origami birds etc) in the lobby of the proton center were wonderful. Take care.
